Born in 1889

Founding father of Japanese tire industry

Mr. Shojiro Ishibashi made a major contribution to our automotive industry through the pioneering development and mass-production of the domestic pneumatic tire – an indispensable component for a motor vehicle’s reliable performance. In recognition of these great achievements, the Japan Automotive Hall of Fame is honored to induct Mr. Shojiro Ishibashi into the Hall of Fame.
