Dr. Tsuneo Someya

Born in 1931

Paved the way to advancing the performance of bearings for internal combustion engines

Analyzing the relationship between vibration and the pressure of the oil film in sliding bearings used in the internal combustion engine, Dr. Tsuneo Someya promoted the international standardization of these bearings, helping to curb air pollution amongst other things. His work supported the progress of numerous avenues of research. In recognition of these great achievements, the Japan Automotive Hall of Fame is honored to induct Dr. Tsuneo Someya into the Hall of Fame.
