Mr. Jiro Tanaka

Born in 1917

Pioneer in automotive technology development in the post-war Japan

Coming from an aeronautical background, Mr. Jiro Tanaka made an effort to develop electric and gasoline-powered automobiles from scratch. He duly completed numerous landmark passenger vehicles, including a special car for the royal family. His contribution to the progress of our industry is remarkable. In recognition of these great achievements, the Japan Automotive Hall of Fame is honored to induct Mr. Jiro Tanaka into the Hall of Fame.
